Assistant Chief Chris Jackson
Assistant Chief Chris Jackson started in the fire service as a volunteer firefighter at Ft Myers Beach Fire Department in the early 1990s and completed his fire certification from the Fort Myers Fire Academy in 1993. He was hired at the Lee County Port Authority Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Department in 1996. At LCPA ARFF, Chris was promoted up through the ranks from Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2 then CFR Technician. In 2003, Chris moved to Sanibel Fire & Rescue District.
At SFRD he was a firefighter then engineer for 7 years, Lieutenant for 6 years, and Captain for 7 years. Chris has earned numerous Florida state certifications: Firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician, Fire Officer 2, Fire Inspector, and Fire Instructor to name a few. Chris was promoted to Assistant Chief in 2023. This latest leadership role has allowed him the opportunity to not only better assist his fellow firefighters at SFRD, but also become a more involved public servant for the community on Sanibel Island. Assistant Chief Chris Jackson and his wife have lived in Southwest Florida for over 33 years and together raised their three daughters.
